Stanley Cup Playoffs: Rangers take 3-0 series lead, Stars beat Avalanche in Game 2

The New York Rangers took a 3-0 series lead on the Carolina Hurricanes with a 3-2 overtime win in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Second Round at PNC Arena on Thursday.

Artemi Panarin scored the game-winning goal just 1:43 into overtime to help clinch the game for New York, who have yet to be defeated this postseason, having won all of their seven matches thus far. Chris Kreider and Alexis LaFreniere also scored goals for the Rangers, and Igor Shesterkin made 45 saves.

The Rangers will attempt to complete the sweep of the Hurricanes in Game 4, taking place at PNC Arena on Saturday at 7 PM.

The Dallas Stars beat the the Colorado Avalanche 5-3 in Game 2 on Thursday night to even the second-round Western Conference series 1-1.

Dallas defenseman Miro Heiskanen scored two power-play goals, while Roope Hintz had a goal and three assists, and Tyler Seguin got his first goal this postseason for the Stars, putting them up 4-0 late in the second period. Esa Lindell later added an empty-netter, while Jake Oettinger had 28 saves against Colorado.

Game 3 is set for Saturday night in Denver.
