Boston Bruins defeat Florida Panthers 5-1 in Game 1 of second round

The Boston Bruins defeated the Florida Panthers 5-1 in Game 1 of their second round matchup on Monday night at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida.

Morgan Geekie, Mason Lohrei and Brandon Carlo all scored to give Boston a 3-1 lead after the second period, with Justin Brazeau adding another goal in the third, and Jake DeBrusk scoring with an empty-net goal. Boston goaltender Jeremy Swayman made 38 saves; stopping all 16 Panthers shots that came his way in the third period.

Game 2 of the best-of-7 series will take place on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Florida
