After three months away because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Daniel Berger had a huge day on Sunday with a victory at Colonial. It was the first PGA Tour event since March 12 when the spread of COVID-19 shut down golf and all other sports. The PGA Tour returned to golf at the Charles Schwab Challenge, not allowing spectators for the opening five events in its return.
Berger beat Collin Morikawa in a one-hole playoff. After both golfers finished the fourth round at 15-under, they played the 17th hole as a playoff. Berger tapped in for par and Morikawa’s putt to tie it from just outside 3 feet lipped out.
