Washington Wizards Point Guard John Wall To Undergo Surgery On Achilles Injury; Expected To Miss 6-8 Months

Washington Wizards point guard John Wall will undergo surgery on his left heel, the team announced over the weekend. The Wizards said in a press release Wall will miss the remainder of the 2018-19 season: “The procedure will be performed by Dr. Robert Anderson in Green Bay, Wisconsin, next week on a day to be determined. Wall is expected to return to full basketball activity in approximately six to eight months.”

Wall “tried to battle through the pain in his injured heel” to help get the Wizards’ season back on track and according to reports, Wall has been dealing with this issue for years but the pain became “intolerable” this season. Reports also say that Wall has a bone spur sticking into his Achilles tendon, and that surgery would shave the spur down. Wall also missed time in December because of soreness in his heel.
